"The paperwork of global shipping is notoriously stubborn. Every fuel delivery to every vessel at every port generates a chain of manual documentation, scheduling, delivery notes, compliance records, that the industry has largely run on clipboards and spreadsheets for decades."
"Ofiniti's platform, FuelBoss, handles scheduling, operational coordination, and digital documentation for all marine fuels: conventional fuels, LNG, methanol, biofuels, and ammonia. The company says it processed more than 25,000 bunker operations in 2025, with 500,000 metric tonnes of that volume comprising alternative fuels."
"It expects alternative fuel volumes to increase tenfold in 2026 as the complexity of multi-fuel compliance documentation pushes more suppliers towards automated systems."
Ofiniti, an Oslo-based DNV spinout, digitizes the traditionally manual documentation processes in global shipping's bunkering operations. The company's FuelBoss platform handles scheduling, operational coordination, and digital documentation for all marine fuel types including conventional fuels, LNG, methanol, biofuels, and ammonia. In 2025, Ofiniti processed over 25,000 bunker operations with 500,000 metric tonnes comprising alternative fuels. The $6.8 million growth round, led by Verb Ventures and co-led by ShipsFocus, brings total funding to $9 million. Proceeds will fund expansion into major bunkering hubs including ARA, West Africa, and Scandinavia. The company anticipates alternative fuel volumes will increase tenfold in 2026 as compliance complexity drives adoption of automated systems.
