A Japanese food manufacturer, Mizkan, has announced a £17 million investment in Greater Manchester coinciding with a trade mission to Japan. The delegation aims to enhance trade, cultural links, and innovation collaborations with Japanese counterparts. The mission, including key figures like Mayor Andy Burnham, involves various businesses and organizations and represents one of the largest UK missions to Japan. The delegation will also participate in EXPO 2025, further solidifying international partnerships that began with a previous mission in December 2023.
At EXPO 2025 the world's spotlight will be on Osaka, and our partnership with the city gives us a once-in-a-generation opportunity to put Greater Manchester on the global stage.
Mizkan will use the investment to upskill staff, expand and refurbish its facilities, and develop new products as part of this significant development.
