Margot Robbie and her team at LuckyChap Entertainment have designed their new Los Angeles headquarters with a clear focus on creating a non-conventional workspace. Rejecting typical office environments, they transformed a 5,000-square-foot former fish shop into a creative haven with a family-like atmosphere. Interior designer Scarlett Hessian infused the space with midcentury style and eclectic European pieces, culminating in a layout that encourages community, such as a shared kitchen. This innovative approach demonstrates Robbie and her co-founders' commitment to fostering creativity and collaboration within their production company.
"I don't like sitting in one room for a long time-I get antsy, so as beautiful as my office is, I spend way more time there than I ever imagined I would."
"We wanted it to feel like a creative space, not a CV," says Ackerley, emphasizing their desire for a non-traditional work environment.
"We decided to lean into its midcentury style and bring in a mix of European pieces to give it personality," Hessian noted about the design.
The oak-paneled kitchen serves as a communal hub where staff regularly cook breakfast and gather for lunch, fostering a house-style feeling.
