Anduril is considering a UK factory as Europe beefs up military power
Briefly

Anduril Industries, a leader in autonomous drone manufacturing, is contemplating establishing a factory in the UK amid rising European defense spending. This development follows a £30 million contract awarded by the UK government to supply drones to Ukraine. As Europe shifts towards boosting military capabilities in response to geopolitical tensions, Anduril's UK manager stated that plans will materialize contingent on receiving sufficient orders. Additionally, the company has significant investments in the UK and aims to develop research and development centers near tech hubs in Oxford and Cambridge.
If we get enough orders, absolutely we are planning to open a facility in the UK," Rich Drake, the company's UK and Europe manager, told Bloomberg.
The European Union earlier this month said it sought to boost defense spending during what it called a new "era of rearmament."
The UK government recently awarded Anduril a £30 million contract to supply drones to Ukraine.
Anduril continues to "invest significantly" in the UK, has a "large footprint across the country," and plans to scale rapidly.
