"The interaction was not journalism. It was threatening, harassment and physical."
An incident occurred at Whitby Town Hall where a man approached a female councilor aggressively after a council meeting. Mayor Elizabeth Roy emphasized the need for safe public service and condemned behavior that discourages women's participation in civic life. Following the incident, female councillors expressed the need for better support. The council's security is reviewing the incident, and Coun. Victoria Bozinkovski described the encounter as threatening and harassment. The man involved, David Menzies, denied the allegations in a video statement.
