"A large open plaza will be created next to where the future Lionel Road station would be built, and land next to it has been safeguarded to provide space for the station entrance. The new station would be part of the West London Orbital railway, a proposed London Overground service linking Hounslow to Old Oak Common and up through Neasden and then to Brent Cross and/or West Hampstead via an upgraded Dudding Hill line."
"The Mayor of London, Sadiq Khan, has previously said a decision on whether to request a Transport & Works Act Order for the scheme could be made in the late 2020s, which would allow the line to open in the 2030s. Safeguarding the land at Lionel Road for the station ensures there's space for the entrance buildings to be added at a later date, with stairs and lifts down to two platforms on either side of the railway."
The former Sega headquarters on the Great West Road in Brentford will be redeveloped to provide over 1,000 homes, five apartment blocks, support services and about £20 million in community levy for the council. A large open plaza and safeguarded land at Lionel Road will provide space for a future West London Orbital station entrance with stairs, lifts and two platforms. The proposed Overground service would link Hounslow to Old Oak Common, Neasden and Brent Cross and/or West Hampstead via an upgraded Dudding Hill line. The line is currently unfunded but could be decided in the late 2020s for a 2030s opening, and relocating Kew Bridge to create an interchange remains an unlikely option.
