West End cinema listed as asset of community value
Briefly

The Prince Charles Cinema, a well-known independent venue in Leicester Square, has been designated as an asset of community value (ACV) by Westminster City Council. This recognition follows concerns about the cinema's future due to proposed rent increases from its landlord. With the current lease set to expire in September, the ACV status gives the local community the right to raise funds and bid for the building if it is put on the market. The cinema has expressed gratitude for the support received but emphasizes the ongoing fight for a secure long-term lease.
If a building is listed as an ACV, its owner must notify the council if it is put up for sale.
Though this recognition is a huge honour, the fight continues to secure a long term lease that will enable us to invest in our future development.
