Two north London maternity services face closure at crunch NHS meeting

The North Central London Integrated Care Board (ICB) will meet to discuss proposed changes to maternity and neonatal services, particularly recommending the closure of services at the Royal Free Hospital. Instead, services would be concentrated at four hospitals providing at least level two neonatal care. The plans also suggest the closure of the birthing suites at Edgware Birth Centre while enhancing care at Edgware Community Hospital. Although changes have been recommended, current services remain operational for expectant mothers intending to give birth at affected facilities.
