Armed police were deployed to Calder in west Edinburgh on Monday morning following reports of a man with a bladed weapon. The incident occurred around 8:25am at Calder Gardens near Cobbinshaw House, a residential tower block. Two people were injured and transported to Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh for treatment. Police Scotland confirmed the incident is now contained and poses no wider public risk. The situation is not being treated as terror-related. The area remains cordoned off with increased police presence while inquiries continue. Officers remain available to address community concerns.
