A tragic fire at Bicester Motion, located on a former RAF base in Oxfordshire, has claimed the lives of two firefighters and a civilian. The firefighters were attempting to control the blaze when they lost their lives. The community has come together to lay floral tributes, express condolences, and remember the bravery of those involved. Local leaders, including Keir Starmer, have offered their condolences and highlighted the heroic efforts of firefighters. A plaque honoring the deceased has also been placed at the site, unifying the community in grief and respect.
One of the firefighters killed was a London firefighter on retained duty with the Oxfordshire fire service, while the other was with the Oxfordshire service.
A plaque had also been placed in the memory of those who died bearing the names of Oxfordshire fire and rescue service and Bicester Motion.
People have lost their lives and it's quite a close-knit community here. It's just to pay your respects.
