Shaun Hannan and Simone Hogan appeared at Nenagh District Court charged with possession of controlled substances. Both were refused bail and remanded in custody. Garda National Drugs and Organised Crime Bureau and the Tipperary Divisional Drugs Unit seized four kilograms of cocaine in the Nenagh area on May 19. Hogan was charged with two counts of possession of cocaine valued at €210,000 at 18 Ard Cruidin, Nenagh. The allegation is that confidential information linked a criminal organisation to a drug operation, with Hogan receiving a bag from Hannan at a car park at Nenagh Ormond rugby club. Hannan was stopped and arrested, with one kilo alleged to be found on him, and Hogan alleged to have three kilos at her home. The drugs were tested and confirmed as cocaine.
"Mr Hannan is charged with four offences in relation to possession of controlled substances at two locations, Nenagh Ormond rugby club and 18 Ard Cruidin, Nenagh. The total value of the cocaine was put at €280,000. Detective Garda Ronan O'Reilly of the GNDOCB said Mr Hannan made no reply when charged."
