Tube strike disruption continues into fourth day amid RMT walkout
"Nick Dent, Director of Customer Operations for London Underground, stated: 'We urge the RMT to call off this strike... we expect significant disruption to continue into Friday and the level of service we can provide will vary across lines, so customers should continue to check before they travel for the remainder of this week.'"
"TfL has proposed a four-day working week for Tube drivers, which would allow for an additional day off while maintaining contractual hours. This proposal aims to align London Underground with other train operating companies, enhancing reliability and flexibility without extra costs."
Tube drivers from the RMT union are on strike due to disputes with Transport for London regarding changes to the working week. A 24-hour strike was followed by another strike starting Thursday at noon, expected to last until Friday at 12pm. Severe delays and suspensions affected all Tube lines, with normal services not anticipated until the evening. TfL proposed a four-day working week, supported by another union, but the RMT continues to plan further strikes unless the issue is resolved.
