Jimmy Livingstone vehemently denied involvement in the 1992 murder of his wife, Grace Livingstone. Before his name was cleared by a garda review, he discussed his suspicions about the crime. A senior officer stated that a man with long hair seen near the house was likely responsible for the murder. Despite the findings, it took Jimmy many years to restore his reputation, and he was recently laid to rest beside his wife.
A senior officer who reviewed the case said he believed a man with long hair who was seen in the vicinity of the house was "most likely" the killer.
I vividly remember two things about the murder of Grace Livingstone. One is the image of her watering her flowers in the porch shortly before she was killed.
Jimmy Livingstone told me his theory about what happened, and vehemently denied that he had done it.
It took Jimmy many years to clear his name regarding the 1992 killing in Malahide.
