'Today, brother, we say farewell as we take you on your final ride' - motorbike club gives final honours to member killed in M50 tragedy
Briefly

Christian Rasmussen tragically died in a motorcycle crash on the M50 in Dublin at 12:30 pm on March 9. His funeral was attended by numerous bikers and friends, who honored him with a procession. His coffin was draped in the Devils Disciples MC flag and adorned with items symbolizing his heritage and love for biking. Christian was remembered fondly by his family and friends, particularly for his passion for freedom on the open road. His father, Soren, faced the painful farewell, as Christian's life had touched many around him.
"Freedom was something Christian treasured," said Fr Tom Little as he addressed the large gathering of mourners who came to say goodbye to a man who had touched many lives. "On his bike Christian enjoyed the countryside, the colours of the day, the change of the weather, the arriving at a new destination. A wonderful gift, freedom. Christian is now freed from the limitations of this world, while it is very difficult and sad for his dad, Soren, to say goodbye."
Once the procession had made its way inside the church today, a smiling picture of Christian was placed on his coffin. Fondly nicknamed the 'Danish Paddy' by his biker friends, Christian was proud of his Danish roots. In tribute to his home country of Denmark, a pair of clogs were brought up to the alter.
