The lost Harold Hill pub with a name inspired by local woodland
Briefly

The Duckwood Inn was a pub in Harold Hill, founded in August 1955, and designed by architect Brian D. Kett, named after the nearby Duck Wood trees. It became a community cornerstone, frequented by local rugby teams and sports enthusiasts, showcasing trophies from various competitions. Despite a brief name change to Drakes in the 1980s, it returned to its original name. The pub ceased operations in 2010, and in 2012 plans for its demolition were approved, allowing for new housing to be built, completed by 2016.
The Duckwood Inn, a staple in Harold Hill since 1955, served as a community hub for sports and social events before its demolition in 2013.
Opened in 1955, The Duckwood Inn was designed by architect Brian D. Kett and became a local gathering spot for activities like rugby and darts competitions.
