'The council shouldn't build new tower blocks until it can look after the one it has'
Briefly

Developer Mount Anvil has proposed the regeneration of the Bacton estate in Gospel Oak, featuring two towers up to 26 storeys. The initiative faces significant backlash from resident groups, who argue that the new constructions will disrupt views from Hampstead Heath and overshadow neighboring homes. Complaints regarding current management of the Bacton Tower, which already consists of a 22-storey block, include poor maintenance of communal areas and security issues, leading to concerns about the future management of the proposed high-rise developments.
The security door rear entrance is now repaired but the screen is still not working so the concierge is blind to anything happening.
It is not just about the buildings that have potential misery for communities but the way they will be managed.
The council has not decorated the concierge area for the past 10 years, which breaches a condition stipulating it should be done every five years.
Residents say the new plans will ruin views from Hampstead Heath and overshadow existing homes, highlighting concerns about the existing tower's maintenance.
