The family of Robert Dale, an Uber driver, believes that stress from delays in renewing his private hire license due to a cyber attack on Transport for London contributed to his death. At 65, Dale suffered a heart attack after facing three months without work due to the licensing issues. His son described the relentless emotional toll on his father, highlighting the desperate situation many drivers faced during this period, including financial struggles and impact on mental health, which have led to ongoing protests for compensation.
In his letter, he said it was 'a matter of livelihoods, mental health, and in our case, life and death.'
