"Backshall exclaimed, 'They're there. They're there. They're right in front of us. Unbelievable.' He described the orcas as 'absolute rock stars, celebrities, icons of the Orca world and right here on our doorstep. Unreal.'"
"Joe Jones recounted his experience, stating, 'I went to Lizard Point where they passed much closer and gave much better views. I have seen Fin, Minke and Humpback whales over the last few years around the Lizard. But was by far the best and an absolute pleasure to have seen them.'"
Steve Backshall experienced a remarkable encounter with two of the UK's last resident killer whales, John Coe and Aquarius, off the coast of Cornwall. The sighting occurred at Lizard Point, over 500 miles from their home in Scotland. Backshall expressed his excitement, calling the orcas 'rock stars' and 'icons of the Orca world.' Local resident Joe Jones also witnessed the orcas, describing it as the best whale sighting he has experienced. The orcas are believed to be the last two members of a previously larger pod.
