The Hounslow Arts Centre, set to replace the defunct Watermans Arts Centre, is advancing after years of planning. The local council in Hounslow is initiating a search for the appropriate operator to manage the centre, which aims to host premier shows and attract visitors citywide. Despite initial expectations for the Hounslow Arts Trust to take over, an open tendering process has been introduced. The venue will be developed alongside approximately 100 new homes, and efforts will be made to ensure it meets community needs, following feedback and market analysis.
"That is why we are launching an open process to find the right operator â one that shares our aims, will deliver a broad and ambitious programme, and demonstrates it can be financially sustainable."
"I want that to be a world-class arts and culture centre. One that serves our residents, and also brings people in from far and wide, from across London and beyond to see the very best acts."
