Predator who raped schoolgirl, 13, in an alleyway near Croydon shopping centre is jailed
Briefly

Sorosh Amini, 21, was sentenced to seven years in prison after raping a 13-year-old girl in Croydon. The attack, which occurred in broad daylight, involved Amini persistently trying to engage the girl, who ultimately fled but was followed into an alleyway where he assaulted her. The successful investigation, led by the Metropolitan Police, utilized CCTV and forensic techniques to track Amini, who attempted to evade capture by traveling to Liverpool. He was found guilty following a two-week trial, and a Sexual Harm Prevention Order was also imposed.
Amini's attack on this vulnerable girl was predatory and calculated. He has demonstrated himself to be a dangerous sexual offender and this sentence prevents him from harming anyone else.
I want to commend the victim for her courage in coming forward and reporting this offence to us. I hope today's verdict will bring her and her family some semblance of closure.
