Park Lane rough sleepers move to Oxford Street
Briefly

Rough sleepers removed from a Park Lane encampment are believed to have relocated to spots along Oxford Street, including outside John Lewis and near Marks & Spencer. Westminster City Council rough sleeping teams are engaging with people across the city and offering routes to hostel accommodation plus help for addiction and mental health issues. The Park Lane site mirrored a similar encampment near Marble Arch that was also cleared after TfL obtained a possession order. TfL incurred nearly £37,000 in court fees and bailiff and legal costs over two years to remove people from Park Lane. Local businesses reported concerns about the encampments, and TfL arranged security patrols to discourage returns.
