Old Bailey flat to be split in two after manager left with nowhere to stay
Briefly

Plans have been approved by the City of London Corporation to divide a large flat at the Old Bailey into two bedrooms to accommodate staff members, particularly those in security and judicial positions, who have lacked proper housing. The redesign aims to create functional living spaces that require little rearrangement while ensuring comfort and privacy. The alterations are being made in a less significant area of this historically important building, providing essential support for court operations in a site with a long history of judicial functions.
The Keeper, who manages the day-to-day running of the Grade-II* listed Central Criminal Court, has been unable to reside in their designated property due to it being used to accommodate judges.
According to the proposal, the living room will be subdivided into two bedrooms with a full shower room between them, providing comfortable and private accommodation for staff.
