Man (50s) remains in critical condition following assault in North Dublin

A man in his 50s was hospitalised after an alleged serious assault in Coolock, North Dublin. The incident is believed to have occurred in Belcamp Park near the Clonshaugh Park entrance closest to Clonshaugh Lawn on Wednesday, 20 May. Gardaí and emergency services responded after a report of a man found unresponsive at the park shortly after 6pm. The man was taken to Beaumont Hospital for treatment of serious injuries, and his condition remains critical. The scene was preserved for technical examination. Gardaí are appealing for anyone in the vicinity of the Clonshaugh Park entrance to Belcamp Park or Clonshaugh Drive, Coolock, Dublin 17, between 5:30pm and 6:30pm, including people with dash-cam or other camera footage, to make it available. People who may have been exercising in Belcamp Park at the time are specifically requested to contact Gardaí. Information can be provided to Coolock Garda Station, the Garda Confidential Line, or any Garda station.
