""I think Hounslow Labour has a lot of questions to answer," he added."
""Hina Mir has been suspended by the Labour Party. We do not comment on any internal investigations.""
Hina Mir, a Hounslow councillor and former deputy mayor, was suspended by the Labour Party after employing an illegal worker as a nanny in her home. She tried to overturn a 40,000 county court fine issued in January but her appeal was rejected by the judge. Mir reportedly paid a student cash to look after her children and perform household chores and has been ordered to pay the 40,000 fine plus 3,620 in court costs. Conservative councillor Jack Emlsey said the case showed double standards and questioned her reselection for the 2026 council elections. Mir remains a serving councillor despite suspension from the party, and Hounslow Labour said it does not comment on internal investigations. Hounslow Council and Mir did not respond to contact.
