On July 1, 2023, two Just Stop Oil supporters protested at the London Pride parade by blocking the parade and spraying paint on a float. They demanded more transparency from event sponsors and an end to new oil and gas contracts. Seven activists were arrested for disrupting the event. Arthur Clifton and Guido Wieser were found not guilty of causing criminal damage in court. Clifton criticized corporations like Coca-Cola for harming future generations and condemned using Pride for corporate interests. Just Stop Oil is known for provocative protests.
On the day of Pride in London, protesters from Just Stop Oil blocked the parade and sprayed black paint on the road, chanting, "Just stop oil!"
Prior to the trial, Arthur Clifton stated, "Multi-million pound corporations like Coca Cola are wholesale destroying my generation's future. To then use Pride and queer liberation to try and hide this is beyond evil."
