'It's a great legacy' - Keith Duffy on 'phenomenal' reaction to Boyzone documentary 'No Matter What'
Briefly

During an appearance on The Late Late Show, Duffy and Brian McFadden discussed their decade-long journey with the supergroup Boyzlife. Duffy expressed that their story is difficult, highlighting his non-academic past and initial aspirations as a drummer rather than a boy band member. He appreciated the documentary that showcases their journey, mentioning it reveals struggles unbeknownst to fans. McFadden praised the individual interviews done for the documentary, emphasizing how such insights into mental struggles in boy bands were enlightening even to long-time members. He noted the therapeutic effect of recounting their shared experiences.
It's difficult because it's our story, and it was a difficult one because when you come from tough enough beginnings, and I was never very academic.
The opportunities in life that we've been given, we're very appreciative of it, but then when you see it back in front of you in a documentary, it's kind of like everybody didn't know what went on behind closed doors.
They were able to give their own individual experience of what being in a boy band was, and I thought it was great because there were things some of the boys said that I didn't even know happened.
Watching the documentary was therapeutic for him as he and the other members of Westlife had gone through similar experiences.
