Graham Brown, a resident of Blendon Road, has faced significant delays and frustrations in his attempt to obtain a dropped kerb outside his home. After applying for the extension in October and paying the necessary fees, the project has been fraught with problems. Although the council approved the plans and began work, contractors mistakenly retarmacked a perfectly good pavement instead of completing the dropped kerb. Mr. Brown is upset with the council's handling of the situation and their failure to provide clarity about the timeline for resolving the issue, which has now been complicated by upcoming utility works.
It's absolutely ridiculous to say they were doing street repairs because there's nothing wrong with the pavement, he said. When my dropped kerb comes down, the new tarmac is all going to be dug up again right in the same place.
Even when you pay for a dropped kerb, you can't get one done, Mr Brown said. The whole process is terrible from start to finish. It's absolutely ludicrous what you have to go through.
