Hounslow councillor under investigation after Lamborghini seen parked in disabled bays
"A Lamborghini belonging to a West London councillor has been pictured parking in disabled spaces at the council offices, apparently without a blue badge on display. Hounslow Labour has told the Local Democracy Reporting Service (LDRS) it is investigating photos that show a light blue Lamborghini Urus SE SUV parked at Hounslow House civic centre in Hounslow, which belongs to Labour Hounslow Heath Councillor Farhaan Rehman."
"The Labour investigation comes only one week after the LDRS revealed that Hounslow Council had fined a single-mum and mental health nurse, Loretta Alvarez, 1,000 for fly-tipping' an envelope when her council bins were full. She told the LDRS that, if Cllr Rehman had parked in the bays himself without a blue badge, it would make her feel as if elected officials conduct themselves differently than other members of the public are expected to act."
A light blue Lamborghini Urus SE registered to Labour Hounslow Heath Councillor Farhaan Rehman was photographed parked in disabled bays at Hounslow House civic centre without a visible blue badge. The photos show two separate incidents in different disabled spaces. Hounslow Labour said it is investigating the images. Hounslow Council said the parking spaces are owned and managed by the council but treated the matter as internal to Hounslow Labour. A member of the public caught parking in a disabled bay without a blue badge could face a £160 fixed penalty notice. Calls for deselection were voiced if a breach is confirmed.
