Nick Frost will star in ITV's upcoming comedy 'Transaction', centered on a transgender supermarket worker named Liv, played by trans comedian Jordan Gray. The series follows the misadventures that ensue when supermarket manager Simon, who himself has faced scrutiny from the LGBTQ+ community, hires Liv to improve workplace diversity. Liv's antics during the night shifts cause chaos, challenging the stereotypes around inclusivity and work ethics. A teaser showcases humorous commentary on diversity, while the show is set to air on June 24.
"After a marketing campaign backfires spectacularly, supermarket boss Simon finds himself in hot water with the LGBTQ+ community. To try and prove that he's really inclusive, honest, he hires Liv, a transgender woman who ticks the diversity box, but not much else."
"Despite a non-existent work ethic, it's pretty much impossible for Liv to get the sack, encouraging her to wreak havoc on the supermarket night shift. "
"In a short teaser trailer, Liv jokes while stood by her colleagues, one who is Black and one with dwarfism: 'How much more diverse does this place want to be? We look like the set up to a joke that would get you uninvited to Christmas dinner.'"
"The six-part comedy series is based on Gray's miniseries of the same name, which she dropped on Comedy Central's YouTube channel back in 2020."
