Gardai probe spate of caravan park burglaries in Clare

Gardaí in Clare are investigating four burglaries at local caravan parks between Tuesday May 12 and Wednesday May 13 in Doolin, Spanish Point, and Fanore. In Doolin, two burglaries occurred between 2am and 3am on Tuesday May 13. One involved theft of a camping rucksack, a white phone charger, a quilt and two pillows, and a black bomber jacket with “Sea Shepherd” and skull and crossbones, plus “Brigette Bardot” on the sleeve. The second involved a broken-in caravan with no items taken, and three people were seen running from the park. In Spanish Point, a burglary occurred between 11.30pm and 6am, with theft of a fridge/freezer, Phillips TV, kettle, socket extension lead, 32-inch Walker TV, and tools including a hammer, saw, and screwdriver. In Fanore, a caravan was broken into between 9pm and 7am with nothing taken. Gardaí are appealing for witnesses and dash cam or CCTV footage and asking people to contact Ennistymon or local Gardaí.

"Gardaí in Lisdoonvarna are investigating two burglaries that occurred between 2am and 3am on Tuesday May 13, at a Doolin caravan park. During the first burglary the culprits made off with the following items: camping rucksack; white phone charger; quilt and two pillows; black bomber jacket with 'Sea Shepherd'written on the back and front along with skull and crossbones, 'Brigette Bardot' was also wrote on the sleeve. In the second burglary a caravan was broken into but no items were taken."

"Separately, gardaí in Miltown Malbay are investigating a burglary that occured at a Spanish Point caravan park between Tuesday May 12 and Wednesday May 13. The incident occurred between 11.30pm and 6am, when the homeowner discovered the mobile home and shed at the rear of the property broken into. The following items were taken: fridge/freezer; Phillips tv; kettle; socket extension lead; 32inch Walker tv; hammer, saw and screwdriver."

"While gardaí in Ballyvaughan are investigating a burglary that occurred in Fanore Caravan park last Tuesday May 12 between 9pm and 7am. A caravan was broken into but nothing taken. Witnesses are asked to contact Ennistymon Gardaí on 0657072180."
