Chief Inspector Mo Mahmood reported that in the current financial year, there have been 247 recorded motor vehicle thefts, up from 203 last year. Deliveroo and Uber drivers have been especially targeted, with incidents occurring mainly during midweek nights. Efforts to combat these thefts include seizing stolen vehicles and enhancing intelligence gathering, while additional funding has been allocated for specialist resources.
