Brit School receives funds for building repairs
Briefly

The Brit School, a prominent arts institution in Croydon, South London, has been allocated government funding to address significant building maintenance concerns, including a recent ceiling collapse. This funding is part of a larger £470 million initiative from the Condition Improvement Fund aimed at improving facilities in over 70 schools across London. Louise Cooper, the school's COO, emphasized the urgent need for repairs affecting the musical theatre program. The funding not only aims to enhance physical spaces but also to underscore the value placed on students' education and future, as articulated by government officials.
"We are definitely fortunate to receive this funding," said Louise Cooper, chief operating officer at the school. The CIF supports urgent repair and maintenance work in smaller academy trusts and voluntary-aided schools.
"This investment is about more than just buildings, it's about showing children that their education matters, their futures matter," stated Education Secretary Bridget Phillipson.
