Bethnal Green Working Men's Club has launched a fundraising campaign to survive

The Bethnal Green Working Men's Club (BGWMC) faces potential sale to developers unless it secures £18,000 by April 8. Previously, it garnered over 13,000 signatures to prevent eviction. The funds raised will enable a business plan and cover consultancy costs, essential for its survival as an LGBTQ+ hub and community venue. Equity's Nick Keegan emphasizes the cultural significance of BGWMC, noting its role in supporting artists and maintaining its legacy as a community space for over 100 years.

"We believe it is essential to save this unique cultural facility and give it a chance to continue serving the local community of Tower Hamlets, the LGBTQ+ community, and the wider cultural tapestry of London for future generations."
