Arrests as e-bikes, phones and machetes seized
"This crackdown has seen drugs, weapons and dangerous illegal e-bikes taken off the streets. We know these offences are ones that our communities care about, and they want to see officers taking robust action."
"We have done exactly that, this week-long operation will disrupt the criminal networks in Kilburn, ensuring the area is undoubtedly safer for the community."
The Metropolitan Police conducted a week-long operation in north-west London, resulting in over 40 arrests and the seizure of 74 illegal e-bikes. Two machetes were discovered at a barber shop, along with a van linked to drug-dealing containing nitrous oxide canisters. The operation aimed to address community concerns about crime, leading to arrests for various offences, including drug possession and shoplifting. Insp Yu Zhang emphasized the importance of this action in making the area safer for residents.
