Armed officers protecting London Mayor Sadiq Khan left a bag containing a submachine gun, a Glock pistol, a Taser, and ammunition on a street. Five officers have been temporarily removed from frontline duties while the Metropolitan Police's Directorate of Professional Standards investigates the incident. A member of the public found the bag and alerted the police, who recovered it within seven minutes. The mayor's spokesperson stated that this serious incident has been referred for review to prevent future occurrences.
