O2 Shepherd's Bush Empire, a 2,000-capacity west London music venue, underwent a comprehensive summer refurbishment. Renovations included a brand-new speaker system, upgraded house lighting, and a refurbished Level One balcony. The work was carried out carefully to preserve the venue's 1903 Frank Matcham-designed architectural integrity. The upgrades form part of a nationwide venue-improvement plan by the owning company. The venue has hosted performers from Charlie Chaplin and Dusty Springfield to the Rolling Stones and Kylie Minogue.
