She first saw Bowie performing at the Free Trade Hall in Manchester in 1972 at age 11 and became an lifelong fan. Bowie's death followed an 18-month battle with liver cancer and came days after the release of his final album, Blackstar. Hilton described intense grief that kept her from work for two weeks. Julian Furnival, 68, also laid flowers and recalled receiving Aladdin Sane at age 13.
