Pearl Jam's Drummer Extracts Himself From the Band

Matt Cameron has left Pearl Jam after almost three decades with the band. The announcement praised him as a formidable musician and a significant figure in the grunge scene through his work with Soundgarden and Skin Yard. Cameron expressed gratitude for being welcomed into Pearl Jam and acknowledged the relationships, artistry, and experiences gained during his tenure. He is set to be inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame as a member of Soundgarden, having previously been inducted in 2017 with Pearl Jam.
Much love and respect to Jeff, Ed, Mike, and Stone for inviting me into the band in 1998 and for giving me the opportunity of a lifetime, filled with friendships, artistry, challenges and laughter.
