Australian sax-and-drum duo Party Dozen signed with City Slang and released their first label single, “Special Unit.” The track adds punk guitar to their high-energy sound. The duo framed the song with a confrontational message about authority, training, and common sense, welcoming listeners to “SPECIAL UNIT.” A video for the single features Kirsty Tickle on saxophone and Jonathan Boulet on percussion and sampler, revisiting police officer characters from their earlier “Coup De Gronk” video. Party Dozen will tour with Amyl and the Sniffers beginning June 4 in Toronto, with additional headline club dates including Kingston, NY and Queens, NY, plus shows in Milwaukee and Los Angeles.
"“You have the right to remain stupid. Anything you say or do will be laughable. If you cannot afford common sense, a version of it will be provided for you. You have minimal training and exhibit zero qualities that qualify you for the authority bestowed upon you. So here's your gun, and your uniform. Have fun out there and welcome to SPECIAL UNIT.”"
