Oasis reunion tour ticket scams cost fans more than 2m, Lloyds bank estimates
Briefly

A report by Lloyds Banking Group highlights that Oasis fans have fallen victim to over £2 million in ticket scams since the announcement of the band's reunion tour, with 56% of all concert ticket scams attributed to them. The average loss per fan is approximately £436, indicating a willingness to pay above market value. Notably, the demographic most affected are individuals aged 35 to 44, with the highest number of scams occurring in Edinburgh, Warrington, and Manchester. The bank emphasizes the role of social media in these scams, urging caution.
The bank found there had been more than 1,000 cases reported since fans' scramble for tickets started last summer. Based on its share of banking customers, it estimates that across the UK there are likely to have been at least 5,000 victims since tickets went on sale.
Oasis fans make up more than half (56%) of all reported concert ticket scams so far this year, according to Lloyds' data, losing 436 on average.
