Oasis made a spirited return to the live music scene during their reunion world tour, performing at Cardiff's Principality Stadium. The setlist heavily featured their classic 1990s tracks, with only one song from their later albums. Despite past tensions between band members Liam and Noel Gallagher, they took the stage together, initiating their performance with the song Hello. Although their relationship appeared somewhat distant during the show, the performance energized the crowd, particularly with Noel's message of unity during Acquiesce.
Swaggering, cocksure and incredibly loud, Oasis burst back on to the live music scene on Friday night with an accomplished if ever so slightly distanced debut gig on their reunion world tour.
For years it looked as if Liam and Noel Gallagher would never patch up their fractious fraternal relationship. A backstage bust-up in 2009 brought Oasis to an end.
Liam's arm around his brother as they stepped out on stage. They kicked straight into gear without a word to the crowd, playing Hello, the song that begins (What's the Story) Morning Glory?
Noel sang on the second track, Acquiesce: a statement of unity that inspired delirious moshing and crowd surfing.
