Kneecap advert 'banned' on London Tube network
Briefly

Belfast rap trio Kneecap is banned from advertising a poster on the London Underground due to its logo, which is based on balaclavas worn by paramilitaries during the Troubles. Transport for London deemed the poster likely to offend reasonable members of the public. While the band previously used similar advertisements without issue, they claim political interference led to the current ban. One member faces charges related to displaying a flag of Hezbollah at a previous gig, adding to the controversy surrounding the group. Their upcoming concert is set for September 2025.

Kneecap's logo, based on balaclavas worn by paramilitaries during the Troubles, has been used previously in promotional adverts for the band's movie.
In a social media post, Kneecap stated, 'We've been banned from advertising on the London Tube.' This reflects ongoing tensions in political policing.
Liam Og O hAnnaidh, of Kneecap, faces a terrorism charge for allegedly displaying a Hezbollah flag during a performance in London.
