'Jesus Christ Superstar' announced for New Ross stage
New Ross Musical Society announced its 2027 production as Jesus Christ Superstar, to be staged at St. Michael's Theatre in March 2027. The announcement came at the Society’s Annual General Meeting, where gratitude was expressed to the cast and outgoing committee of Me and My Girl. The AGM introduced the 2027 production team, including Director Derek Shannon, Choreographer Anne Marie Cooney, and newly appointed Musical Director Andrew Lane. Shannon described the show as powerful and electrifying, with iconic numbers and a reputation as “the greatest story ever told,” and promised a unique production experience for St. Michael’s Theatre. Lane expressed excitement for his new role after three years performing with the Society.
