Inaugural Enniscorthy trad weekend hits all the right notes as groups travel from all over
The first Enniscorthy Trad Weekend ran from Friday, May 22 to Sunday, May 24 in Co. Wexford. The event featured concerts, workshops, and visits to local heritage sites, drawing audiences and musicians from within and beyond the county. Enniscorthy Comhaltas had strong attendance and volunteers for every event, while the Blackstairs Crew also brought a sizable group. Participants traveled from Dublin, Carlow, Laois, Wicklow, and Kildare. The opening concert at Bellefield GAA complex drew over 150 people, and Saturday workshops were well attended under instructor Liz Hand. Visits to the 1798 National Rebellion centre and Enniscorthy Castle offered opportunities to learn local history. Organisers plan to continue the celebrations and make the main weekend an annual festival next year.
