Greenwich woman who needs blood transfusions every 2 weeks to run London Marathon
Briefly

Chloe Adlerstein, a 32-year-old living with beta thalassaemia, aims to raise funds for the UK Thalassaemia Society by running the London Marathon. Diagnosed at 17, she discovered she had been functioning with less than half the oxygen of her peers, explaining her severe fatigue and struggles with physical activities. Chloe, now relying on blood transfusions every two weeks, works full-time and expresses gratitude for blood donors, crediting them with helping her lead a more normal life despite her condition.
It wasn't until doctors told me that I had been living on less than half the oxygen than my peers that it all started to come together and make sense - no wonder I had suffered with fatigue and hated PE.
I am eternally grateful to all the kind souls who take time out of their busy lives to donate blood, to enable people like me to live a somewhat normal, healthy, happy life.
