Traditional Breton musician Jean Michel Boennec from Crozon, Brittany, and his band Les Rats Crevés performed for appreciative audiences in Sligo. The group toured the west of Ireland for a week, staying in Templeboy, and included 13 people who work together at Brest General Hospital. The band features singers, a flautist, percussion, guitars, ukeleke, and accordion players. Les Rats Crevés formed as charity entertainers for a Christmas concert at the hospital and continues weekly rehearsals and performances when opportunities arise. In Sligo, they played a post-wedding celebration at the Beach Bar in Aughris and later performed outdoors in town and in Connolly’s Pub. The Sligo-Crozon twinning partnership is marking 45 years of friendship.
