Family credits Metallica for saving their lives after truck crashes into home

A Virginia family, including parents David and Kristin McKee and their daughter Madeleine, narrowly escaped serious injury when a truck crashed into their home shortly after they went to bed early, preparing for a Metallica concert the next day. Their usual routine involved staying up late, but this time they opted for an early night, which Kristin believes saved their lives. They are grateful to Metallica not only for their music but also for influencing their early bedtime, coinciding with the band's announcement of a new documentary titled 'Metallica Saved My Life.'

'[I asked David,] Do you wanna sit up? And he was like, Nah, I think I just wanna go on to bed. I said, I'll go on to bed, too.'

'We were so fortunate that, that night, my daughter could have walked down that hallway and found us in the rubble. I thank God every day, and Metallica, for saving us.'
