Eddy Current Suppression Ring released their first album in seven years, titled In Light Of Recent Events. The album is described as raw, intense, and highly strung, matching their earlier sound. The label says the material grew out of private weekly jam sessions throughout 2025. Live performances were played under aliases including Jimmy and the Ringtones and Top Hats. The tracklist includes VU-inspired songs such as “Swimmin' Hole” and “Hard To Be Moved,” which were released quietly on YouTube within the last year, along with nine additional high-energy tracks. A tour is hoped for, since the band has not played the US since 2010.
