Ontario introduced rules in April that prohibit resale above face value, and similar measures are being considered in New York, California, and the United Kingdom. The U.K. is drafting legislation after major artists urged action against “extortionate” reseller costs. In the United States, an order targets scalpers using bots, and Kid Rock has called for a resale price cap.
