Acclaimed group New Road set to perform in Sligo's Hawk's Well
A special concert takes place at the Hawk’s Well on Saturday, June 13 at 8pm. Leonard Barry, Rick Epping, Andy Morrow, and Seamie O’Dowd perform with guest Máirtín O’Connor. The four-piece celebrates the 10th anniversary of their debut collaborative album, Stone Walls & Street Lights, released in 2016. The album fuses Irish traditional music with American Appalachian influences through respected virtuosos. Barry plays uilleann pipes and whistles, Epping plays harmonica, concertina, and vocals, Morrow plays fiddle, and O’Dowd plays guitar, mandolin, and vocals, with O’Connor as a special guest. The collaboration developed from Barry’s earlier solo work into a distinct group sound described as a glorious, unfettered soundscape. Additional special guests will be announced soon, and tickets are available through the Hawk’s Well theatre.
